Google Analytics
Matomo uses so-called "cookies", which are small text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. These "session cookies" are only stored temporarily on your computer and are deleted as soon as the web browser is closed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is stored on a server of the provider in Germany and evaluated exclusively by ITZBund. Collected data is not passed on to third parties and is only used to identify and improve relevant content on our website.

Every time a user accesses the RKI's website and every time a file is accessed, data about this process must be temporarily processed in a log file. Your IP address is neither recorded nor stored in the access logs of the web servers of our hosting platform. Matomo is configured according to the recommendations of the Independent State Center for Data Protection (ULD) Schleswig-Holstein and follows the applicable data protection regulations.

In detail, the following data is processed for each access/retrieval:

Storage period

Storage is carried out in accordance with the guidelines for processing and managing documents in federal ministries, which are implemented in the RKI as the registry guidelines (RegR). Technical provision of the website, statistics and cookies. These websites are hosted by the Federal Information Technology Center (ITZBund), as an IT service provider for federal authorities. The ITZBund creates usage statistics for the websites it hosts. The Matomo program (formerly PIWIK) is used for this purpose. The ITZBund's privacy policy can be found here. The BGA receives evaluations from the ITZBund on the use of the website www.rki.de. These evaluations do not contain any personal data. The BGA uses these evaluations exclusively to analyze, maintain and improve its website.

When individual pages are accessed, so-called temporary cookies are used to make navigation easier. These session cookies do not contain any personal data and expire at the end of the session. Techniques such as Java applets or Active-X controls, which make it possible to track user access behavior, are not used.

Data transfer to third countries As explained in this data protection declaration, we use services (e.g. links to our social media presence) whose providers are sometimes based in so-called third countries (such as the USA), i.e. countries whose data protection level does not correspond to that of the European Union. To the extent that this is the case and the European Commission has not issued an adequacy decision for these countries (Art. 45 GDPR), we have taken appropriate precautions to ensure an appropriate level of data protection for any data transfers. These include in particular the standard data protection clauses of the European Union (Art. 46 Para. 2 lit. c GDPR) including - depending on the case - supplementary clauses containing additional protective measures. In such a case, you have the right to request a copy of the "standard data protection clauses".

If a transfer to a third country takes place and there is no adequacy decision or suitable guarantees, it is possible and there is a risk that authorities in the respective third country (e.g. secret services) can gain access to the transmitted data in order to record and analyze it, and that the enforceability of your data subject rights cannot be guaranteed." Your data protection rights (rights of the data subject) If we process personal data from you, you have the following data protection rights:

the right to obtain information about the processing of your personal data at any time (Art. 15 GDPR), the right to have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed (Art. 16 GDPR), the right to have data deleted or restricted in processing in accordance with legal requirements (e.g. in the event of withdrawal of your consent or unlawful processing) (Art. 17, 18 GDPR), the right to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future in the case of data processing based on consent (Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR), the right to data portability (you can have an overview of your data made available to you in an electronic format) (Art. 20 GDPR),

the right to object to data processing that is carried out for reasons of a legitimate interest of the RKI, for the performance of public tasks or in the exercise of official authority (Art. 21 GDPR) the right to contact the data protection officer of the RKI and to raise your concerns (Art. 38 para. 4 GDPR) and

the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority for data protection (The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Graurheindorfer Str. 153 - 53117 Bonn, +49 (0)228-997799-0, email: poststelle(at)bfdi.bund.de, https://www.bfdi.bund.de) (Art. 77 para. 1 GDPR)

Content from other providers

The Internet pages www.blue-glacier.org contain links to other websites. On all pages, links to content from third-party Internet pages ("external content") were created by the BGA to the best of its knowledge and with the greatest possible care. They merely provide access to "external content". Particular attention was paid to the trustworthiness of third-party providers and the accuracy and legality of the "external content".

However, since the content of websites is dynamic and can change at any time, it is not always possible to carry out a constant case-by-case review of all content to which a link has been created. The RKI therefore expressly does not adopt the content of third-party websites that are linked to its own website as its own. The respective provider of the page to which reference was made is solely liable for damages and violations of law arising from the use or non-use of "third-party content". Obligations to remove or block the use of information in accordance with general law remain unaffected. In this case, liability is only possible at the time of knowledge about a specific violation of law. If we become aware of such violations of law, we will remove this content immediately. The RKI does not monitor and has no influence on whether their operators comply with data protection regulations.

Social Media

The BGA takes the current discussion about data protection in social networks very seriously. It is currently not legally clear whether and to what extent all networks offer their services in accordance with European data protection regulations. We therefore expressly point out that the services Twitter, Instagram and YouTube used by the BGA store their users' data (e.g. personal information, IP address) in accordance with their data usage guidelines and use it for business purposes. The BGA has no influence on the data collection and further use by the social networks. There is no knowledge of the extent, location and duration of the data storage, the extent to which the networks comply with existing deletion obligations, the evaluations and links made to the data and to whom the data is passed on.

Own content

Insofar as the content on these pages contains legal provisions, official notices, recommendations or information, they have been prepared to the best of our knowledge and with the greatest possible care. In the event of any discrepancies, however, only the current official version as published in the official publication organ provided for this purpose applies. Any legal notices, recommendations and information are non-binding.

Legal advice is not provided. BGA is not liable for damages or violations of law that arise from the use or non-use of the information provided.

Error messages

The editorial team asks users to draw attention to illegal or incorrect content from third parties to which a link is provided on the website. We also ask that you send a message to the contact address provided if your own content is not error-free, current, complete or understandable.
